Procurement Specialist in the Public Sector
Your new company
You'll be joining a public sector organisation that provides a variety of services for the wider community. With the new public procurement regulations coming up, the procurement team are busy running tenders across a variety of indirect categories and looking for an experienced candidate to join their growing function.
Your new role
Deliver procurement & tender activities across a variety of indirect categories (waste, vehicles, PPE, parts, consumables, health etc.) across a mixture of call off (bespoke & existing frameworks), mini-competitions and full tenders
Go out for early market engagement and run testing exercises to ensure documentation and specifications are tailored to the organisation
Asses and manage risk associated with sourcing activities
Working closely with service leads and legal to develop form of contracts, T&Cs, KPIs and pricing models
Engage closely with internal stakeholders to understand business procurement needs
Work with the team to create a procurement strategy and plan for long term goals and react to short-term needs
Ensuring compliance with public contract regulations / procurement act 2023
Analysis of spend on goods and services via Agresso ERP
Supporting the corporate awareness of policy through procurement initiatives, with a focus on social value, modern slavery and sustainability
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience working in a public sector procurement role
A strong understanding of public sector procurement regulations (PCR15 / PA23)
Working experience of managing call off, mini-competitions and tenders
Strong attention to detail
Stakeholder management and supplier engagement skills
ERP / MS Office proficiency
