Located in Solihull, Shirley
A new residential home, based in Solihull, is on the lookout for a new registered manager for their 2 EBD and 1 bed 16+ provision children’s home. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilful individual to lead an ambitious team and oversee the day-to-day running of the children's home. As part of this role, you will be taking the home through the recruitment and Ofsted process, therefore, experience of this would be beneficial.
The role is Monday–Friday with the expectation of weekend on-call shifts (1 in 3) and is a temporary contract for up to 6 months with the potential for extending it. The successful candidate will receive a daily rate of between £400 and £450!
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous significant experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Manager in a children's residential home
- Experience working within a DoLS environment would be ideal
- Obtained Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care
- Good knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulations in-line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children's Homes
- Understanding the main responsibilities of a Registered Manager
- Enhanced DBS on the update service - Children's barred list
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Provide high quality care services to support all children and young people living in the home
- Ensure all service users have individual care plans which have been carefully developed in order to meet their needs and to ensure person-centred care
- Ensure the safeguarding, individual rights, and equality amongst the service users
- Manage, supervise, and assist staff members in the professional development of the home regarding policies and procedures being followed, completed training, and risk assessments being up to date
- Monitor performances and promote the personal development of staff members through regular appraisal meetings
- Liaise with healthcare professionals and build relationships with the parents/ carers and other family members of the service users
- Manage any on-going finances and budgets
