Cyber Security Engineer
Permanent Salary: Between £45,000 - £53,000 (neg.)
Location: Sunderland / Leicester
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days in office after initial training

Your new company

I’m currently looking for a cyber security engineering consultant to work for a multinational organisation in a delivery focused role which will see you involved in most realms of operational cyber security whilst also consulting on behalf of the core business with international business units and the Managed Service Security Provider. This role will involve expensed travel between Leicester and Sunderland.

This role comes at a time of substantial business change within cyber and whilst it will involve hands-on security engineering work and escalations, it will also require driving cyber project delivery involving stakeholder engagement, gap analyses, getting out and visiting other sites and managing third parties.

Your new role will involve

  • Getting involved with the maintenance of the day to day running of the organisation’s IT Security in collaboration with the MSSP.
  • Managing and enforcing security initiatives set out by cyber leadership
  • Assisting with cyber-specific transformational projects
  • Liaising with international business units on cyber during acquisitions
  • Cyber project delivery across the following areas:
  • SIEM Management
  • Vulnerability management
  • IPS/IDS work
  • Runbook management
  • IAM work
  • Risk mitigation

What you'll need to succeed
  • A good technical cyber security background
  • Experience of cyber project delivery
  • Rapid7 suite experience would be ideal
  • Experience of common SIEM tools
  • Experience of common vulnerability scanning/management tools
  • Endpoint detection security experience
  • Excellent communication skills, autonomous, proactive and business solution focused mindset
