Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design of electrical engineering services for buildings. This includes mains electrical, renewables, earthing, sub-mains electrical distribution, efficient lighting, fire alarm systems, security systems, and mechanical engineering services design.
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design of electrical engineering services for buildings. This includes mains electrical, renewables, earthing, sub-mains electrical distribution, efficient lighting, fire alarm systems, security systems, and mechanical engineering services design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand project requirements and conduct surveys on electrical systems.
- Analyse existing systems and assess the feasibility of new systems.
- Evaluate carbon emissions and energy-saving potential.
- Liaise with clients, design team members, suppliers, and contractors.
- Ensure financial and technical success of projects.
- Perform design calculations and develop design proposals.
- Prepare tender documentation and monitor site progress.
- Prepare clear and concise reports.
- Support business development and assist other departments as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Articulate and literate with sound engineering design skills.
- Experience in sectors such as offices, industrial, government, rail, residential, and retail.
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in building engineering services design.
- Experience with integrating renewable technologies into buildings.
- Familiarity with BIM and proficiency in Amtech design software.
- AutoCAD or Revit experience is advantageous.
General Information:
- Significant RIBA Plan of Work Stages 2, 3 & 4 commissions in various sectors.
- Office-based role with a preference for a permanent position, but open to contract positions.
