Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer – High Voltage (Critical Systems)
HAYS are seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer to join a UK-wide Critical Systems Team (Southampton based office). This role involves providing electrical design expertise and guidance to graduates and technicians, showcasing your in-depth understanding of design engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage your own project work.
- Complete detailed designs to the required standards and supervise the work of others.
- Manage time on projects to meet deadlines and complete assigned tasks as stipulated by the project manager.
- Maintain excellent levels of client service.
Skills and Experience:
Our Critical Systems team works across a broad range of markets. We are looking for individuals with skills in any or all of the following areas, and a willingness to learn and expand into new areas:

- Detailed design of electrical distribution at MV and LV.
- Application of renewable technologies (battery energy storage, hydrogen, wind).
- Rail power delivery solutions (Network Rail and TfL).
- Power generation and control.
- Detailed design of electrical installations for special locations.
- Use of specialist software (ETAP, Paladin, Trimble).
