Financial Controller job opportunity for a construction business in Glasgow

Your new company

Our client, a well established and award-winning construction business has a new opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join them as Financial Controller.

Reporting into the MD, your role will be pivotal as part of the leadership team where you will be instrumental in driving the overall strategic direction of the business.

Your new role

Responsibilities will be varied and include:
  • Overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability.
  • Monitor and analysing financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Managing cash flow
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate project costing and financial tracking.
  • Extensive business partnering with non-financial managers and the board providing meaningful insight and positive challenge
  • Leading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified accountant with previous experience of working in a similar role, ideally with some construction sector experience.

Furthermore, you will possess excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills with the ability to provide positive challenge and influence.
