Internal Auditor job, London, Cambridge or Bishop's Stortford

A highly reputable firm is seeking a dedicated and commercially aware professional to join their expanding Internal Audit team based in Cambridge, London or Bishop’s Stortford. The Internal Audit team works with a diverse client base, predominantly in the public sector, including education, charity, and not-for-profit organisations. Their mission is to add value, drive improvements, and foster efficiencies for their clients.

The Role
The successful candidate will:
  • Lead internal audit assignments, delivering high-quality outputs for review.
  • Plan and execute internal audit cycles, including preparing terms of reference, deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
  • Conduct audits at client premises or remotely, accounting for approximately 70% of their time.
  • Present findings and advisory assignments, making up the remaining 30% of the role.
  • Build relationships with clients and support junior team members.
  • Contribute to business development through client meetings, networking, and marketing initiatives.

Candidate Requirements
Applicants should ideally have the following:
  • ACA/ACCA/IIA part or full qualification.
  • Proven experience in planning and conducting internal audits.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to interact at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
