HR Consultant, Birmingham, £250-£300 per day, Hybrid Working
HAYS are delighted to be working with Birmingham City Council to recruit an interim HR Consultant. My client is seeking a junior HR project professional to join their team. This role involves managing a high volume of non-complex case work related to the implementation of a new pay and grading model. The successful candidates will support email, phone, and online customer support activities, handling potentially 4000+ responses over a 4–6-week period. This role is ideal for a junior HR Business Partner or Advisor with experience in HR change and transformation projects.
This role is paying between £280-£300 per day, and the successful candidate would be office based 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secretariat/Project Management: Facilitate daily escalation meetings, ensure data readiness, track and record resolutions, and manage actions.
- Case Management: Handle escalated queries, liaise between HR teams, track responses, chase feedback, and communicate resolutions.
- Query Management System: Manage an online query management system, ensuring all queries are tracked and resolved.
- Crisis Management: Assist in crisis response activities, including shutting down the query access system and managing reactive communications.
- Communication: Provide clear and effective communication to colleagues, both verbally and in writing, including FAQ-based and personalised responses.
In order to be successful in this role:
- Conscientiousness: Ability to manage a high workload with rapid turnaround and high attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to operate effectively in meetings and communicate with colleagues.
- Project Management: Experience in a project environment, with the ability to manage tasks through to completion.
- HR Skills: Prior experience in an HR environment, with an understanding of HR processes, risk identification, and colleague management during HR changes.
- Local government exposure: previous experience in a local government environment.
