Your new company
Specialists in designing and manufacturing lighting systems for aircraft cabins and emergency exits. They provide a range of products, including LED cabin lighting, photoluminescent floor path marking, and emergency signage. Their solutions are used by aircraft manufacturers, airlines, and suppliers worldwide.
Your new role
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to offboarding.
- Assist line managers with basic employee relations processes, including disciplinary actions, grievances, capability issues, and terminations, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. For complex HR legal matters, external legal counsel will be provided.
- Support line managers in team development and contribute to company succession planning.
- Performing various HR administrative tasks, such as coordinating training events and supporting company-wide surveys and action plans.
- Prepare and validate the monthly payroll summary for the Finance Department, ensuring accuracy, compliance with UK payroll regulations, and clear documentation for review. Communicate payroll details and potential issues effectively across teams, including US-based stakeholders, to facilitate timely decision-making.
- Lead ad hoc HR projects, such as compiling documentation for pay reviews, administering the annual discretionary Company Bonus Scheme, and updating the Staff Handbook as needed. A basic understanding of employment law and an interest in its development are required.
- Assist the Head of Technical, Compliance & Quality with ad hoc health and safety administrative tasks.
- Ensure clear and concise communication of key HR and payroll-related updates across UK and US teams, adapting communication style for an international audience to support efficient decision-making.
- Act as an advocate and promoter for mental health and wellbeing throughout the business.
- Provide onsite support as a Mental Health First Aider, offering guidance and directing staff to appropriate support services.
- Promote, develop, and support the company’s employee welfare initiatives, ensuring effective and consistent communication both onsite and electronically.
- Lead wellness activities in collaboration with group-level HR.
- Maintain approachability as a core value, fostering a culture of open communication and trust with employees at all levels.
What you'll need to succeed
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, capable of working proactively and independently to complete tasks and projects on time with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, supported by high emotional intelligence and empathy, focusing on approachability and proactive communication.
- Strong communication skills, able to clearly present HR and payroll-related insights to an international audience, including US-based teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a global/multi-region environment, ensuring professional and efficient communication across time zones (primarily between the UK and the US).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with data analysis, payroll reconciliation, and HR-related analytics. Familiarity with formulas such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables is preferred.
- Prior experience in payroll processing or working closely with finance teams on payroll reconciliation is highly desirable.
- A positive and professional approach, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust within the organisation.
