Hays Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a public sector organisation with the recruitment of a finance assistant to join their organisation for a minimum of 6 months on a temporary basis.
The ideal candidate for the Finance Officer role will be a proactive and organised individual, responsible for a variety of finance tasks including sales and purchase ledger management, bank and cash reconciliations, and raising sales invoices.
You will use accounting software to ensure accurate financial processing, support month-end and year-end analysis, and assist with internal recharging and supplier payments. Strong communication, IT, and numeracy skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain effective relationships and a positive approach to continuous improvement.
Your new role
As Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Operate across multiple accounting systems and use general software applications, including MS Office (Excel and Word).
- Support the Transactional team with Accounts Payable and Income functions.
- Ensure accurate and organised financial information.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Manage and prioritise workloads under pressure.

- Has previous experience in a finance-related role.
- Well-organised and methodical with good administration skills.
- Possesses excellent attention to detail.
- Has strong communication skills and the ability to manage workloads efficiently.
