Your new role

In this role, you will provide 1st and 2nd Line Support for any computer-related issues, including printers, emails, telephones, device management, and network access issues. You will provide IT support to all users, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and resolving incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshoot issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
  • Manage and support Windows desktop and server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Support Microsoft servers with SQL, SharePoint, Exchange, and other Microsoft server technologies to ensure they are running efficiently and securely.
  • Mobile device support and deployment ensuring they are configured correctly and secure.
  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs, to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles to protect corporate information assets and systems.
  • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software, ensuring all assets are tracked and managed effectively.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to resolve issues, obtain quotes, and manage procurement processes.
  • Provide Service Desk cover between core hours on a rota basis, ensuring support is available to users during these times.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Comprehensive IT knowledge and technical expertise
  • Proficiency in managing Windows desktop and server environments
  • Experience with Microsoft servers, including SQL, SharePoint, and Exchange
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
  • Skilled in mobile device support and deployment
  • Knowledgeable in cybersecurity principles
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • A valid UK driving licence
