Multi Academy Trust is seeking an IT Technician to join their team, based at a secondary school in Chorley.
Your new company
This multi-academy trust currently consists of 2 schools with further plans to grow and, due to the centralising of the IT team, they have approached Hays seeking an IT Technician to join their team, reporting to the Trust's IT Manager. The trust has a secondary and a primary school as part of the trust with further plans to grow, with the secondary school being amongst one of the top 10 schools in the Lancashire area and, therefore, the school has high expectations in order to remain high performing. It is therefore imperative that the right individuals are appointed to ensure continued high performance and the IT Manager is passionate about providing a high level of IT support to overall enhance the teaching and learning.
Your new role
Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Technician will be responsible for providing a high level of IT support to both staff and pupils across both sites, working with the wider IT team to deliver this support. On a daily basis, this will involve responding to IT requests from staff and pupils, ensuring that these are resolved efficiently and that all updates are communicated to end users. IT support will include support for hardware, software, bespoke technologies and also support for the delivery of trust-wide IT projects. Duties will include carrying out troubleshooting and maintenance of printers, workstations and all IT hardware, keeping an inventory of all IT equipment, ordering new equipment and also working with end users around the use of IT hardware. From a software perspective, this will include completing upgrades and installations, as well as supporting staff with the use of new technologies and systems. In addition, you will also assist with media support for the school, which will involve maintaining the school website, supporting from an IT perspective with AV equipment for events and activities and also supporting with the production of learning resources and promotional resources.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will have IT Technician experience with experience working in the education sector in a school or college being beneficial. You will have strong communication and customer service skills, with a passion for providing a high level of IT support and further developing your skills and knowledge, becoming an integral part of an experienced IT team.
