Community Programme Worker

Your new role

As a Community Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with learning disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will provide personal care, support for daily activities, and help individuals develop essential life skills.


- Work with a range of over 55s in a social setting.
- Work with a range of adults with additional learning and/or physical needs in a social/disco setting.
- Work with a range of 5–11-year-olds in a play work setting.
- Ensure all councils' Safeguarding and Health and Safety guidelines and Policies are adhered to in relation to all our clients and employees in our clubs.
- Work alongside a range of workers, volunteers and carers in ensuring a positive environment at all our clubs.

What you'll need to succeed


Communication

  • Patience and empathy.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Capability to speak on behalf of others and communicate with a range of professionals.
  • Strong communication skills are adaptable to various situations.
  • Willingness to learn new methods of communication.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:

- 1-year full-time youth/play work experience
- 3 years part-time play/youth work experience
- Youth work, play work, social care qualifications (desirable)
- Working with adults with additional needs is a distinct advantage.
- Working with older people is a distinct advantage.
