This wide-ranging role will form part of a wider team based in Bristol and a number of other offices across the UK and the role holder will lead on complex commercial matters providing quality and timely legal support and advice.
Your new role
You will lead on complex commercial supplier and customer strategic matters, providing quality and timely legal advice and legal support across Consumer Marketing, Products, Sales, Change, Customer Service and Digital.
You will enjoy a broad variety of work with a focus on commercial legal transactional and advisory work to senior stakeholders across their Products, Regulatory, Operational, Consumer Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Digital teams.

You will be interacting closely with senior stakeholders to convey key issues succinctly and concisely.
What you'll need to succeed
Our client is looking for a UK qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 4+ years PQE, with substantial experience, preferably in-house, or gained at a high quality national or international law firm in the financial services and banking sectors. You will be a first-class technical lawyer with extensive experience in commercial contracts, ideally with knowledge of financial service products and the regulatory framework financial services providers operate in. Payments and consumer credit experience would be a distinct benefit as well.
You will be comfortable influencing/delivering strategically important projects with the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and will have excellent drafting, communication, stakeholder management, organisation, influencing and persuading skills. You should be experienced in detailed legal analysis and delivery of advice in the context of broader commercial strategy.
The ability to supervise more junior team members and/or overseeing and being responsible for the work of others is desirable.
