Your new company
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our accountancy practice and support our payroll team in processing and distributing employee pay cheques. You will be responsible for ensuring that all payroll transactions are accurate, timely and compliant with tax and legal requirements. The job offers flexibility with hybrid work and a 1230 finish on a Friday.
Your new role
Responsibilities:
Calculate wages, salaries, commissions, bonuses and other payments for employees
Prepare and issue pay cheques by cash, cheque or electronic transfer
Manage electronic timekeeping systems or manually collect and review timesheets
Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll-related matters
Review and abide by company policies and procedures
Make sure account balances are correct
Resolve payroll errors and discrepancies
Maintain accurate records of payroll data and transactions
Liaise with external agencies such as HMRC, pension providers and tax consultants
What you'll need to succeed
Requirements:
Proven work experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs - Brightpay
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Good time management and organisational skills
Degree in business administration, finance or accounting preferred
