Procurement Category Manager - Permanent - Coventry - Public Sector - Up to £50K

Your new company

You will be working as a Procurement Manager for a large commercially focused public sector organisation in the Coventry area, on a permanent basis. The role will focus on the estates, maintenance and building consultancy categories.


Your new role

As a Procurement Manager, you will be supporting the organisation's effective procurement function in relation to project and commodity-based procurement, for estates, maintenance and building consultancy works. You will manage a defined portfolio of spend and undertake procurement strategies to deliver best value contracts and continuous improvement solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to review current supply chain solutions and implement optimum procurement arrangements, taking account of operational contexts, regulatory or funder compliance and applicable funder deadlines. You will also be leading and advising on procurement tender projects, ensuring timelines are managed effectively and compliance with relevant internal processes and external regulations. This role may in time include line management of a procurement coordinator.
This role offers hybrid working (3 days office, 2 home).


What you'll need to succeed

You will need to understand market dynamics and cost drivers and have experience of undertaking a range of sourcing activities including RFQs, formal tenders and sourcing competitions. You will be a strong negotiator with contract management experience to ensure full end-to-end delivery and robust supplier management. You must have previous experience within planned estates / build works, and you will ideally hold MCIPS or be working towards it.
