Interim Procurement Manager working for a major public-sector organisation - £450-500 per day INSIDE IR35

Your new company
A major public-sector organisation with offices across the UK, including Manchester, is seeking an experienced Public-Sector Procurement Interim to join their Commercial team and support with day-to-day procurement, commercial and contract management activity. Initially, the contract will run to the financial year-end at the end of March 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Your new role
As interim Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for leading procurement activities across various business areas, focusing on contract management and procurement within the Corporate and Professional services categories. You will develop specifications, evaluation criteria, and tender documents for a variety of procurement activities, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs, and you will identify and resolve issues that arise within contracts, providing recommendations and implementing necessary changes.

Also in this role, you will explore and recommend the most effective routes to market (including the use of Government frameworks) working closely with stakeholders to develop requirements and ensure successful contract award. The Interim Procurement Manager will analyse management information on contracts to inform contract management decisions, making recommendations for action as needed and collaborating with Commercial Leads, internal departments, and suppliers.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote sound commercial practices, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.

What you'll need to succeed
  • An extensive background in Public-Sector Procurement with a strong track record.
  • A good working knowledge of Public Contract Regulations (PCR2015) and OJEU processes, with an awareness of the upcoming changes surrounding the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Experience of using Government frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • A confident negotiator with strong influencing skills.
  • You must be based in the UK and have full rights to work in the UK. Please note that this client cannot offer sponsorship.
