We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a dynamic finance team in Harrow. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.

Your new role

• Process supplier invoices, ensuring they are coded correctly and authorised in accordance with company policies.
• Match purchase orders to invoices and delivery notes.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare and process payment runs, including BACS and cheque payments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier accounts.
• Handle supplier queries and liaise with internal departments to resolve issues.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in a similar role within a finance department.
• Strong knowledge of purchase ledger processes and procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• AAT qualification or working towards it is desirable.
