Your new company
I am working with a well-established construction SME in Bolton, who are now seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team due to growth within the business. This organisation has grown substantially over the past 70 years and is now known as one of the market leaders in their industry.
Your new role
In this Purchase Ledger role, it involves processing a high volume of purchase invoices, including matching, batching, and posting them to COINS accounting software and occasionally to Sage Line 50. Responsibilities include requesting POD's documents, filing waste tickets, distributing invoices to managers for authorisation, and monitoring their movements. The role also entails resolving internal purchase invoice queries, managing purchase ledger documents, administering supplier statements, controlling petty cash, handling banking tasks, setting up new contracts, clients, and suppliers, providing cover for other finance department staff, and performing ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required. This is full time role working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have substaintial experience in a similar finance role, be comfortable working to deadlines, and possess strong organisational skills. You should be numerate and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, is essential, along with experience using commercial accounting software.

The position offers a salary of £26,000, depending on experience, along with an annual profit-related bonus. Benefits include a workplace pension, accident and life cover and study support for AAT or equivalent qualifications. You will be entitled to 35 days of leave, including bank holidays, with sufficient days needing to be saved for the Christmas shutdown. You will be joining a well established and friendly team, who have excellent staff retention and work very well together.
