Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Financial Accountant to join our high-performing finance team. In this role, you will be directly responsible for all financial and statutory reporting and will work closely with the Head of Finance and Management Accountant in a collaborative, supportive environment. In this role, you will be directly responsible for all financial and statutory reporting and will work closely with the Head of Finance and Management Accountant in a collaborative, supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and management of all financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Management Accountant to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure that all financial operations align with the institution’s broader strategic goals.
- Support the monthly and annual statutory audit processes, liaising with external auditors as required.
- Provide financial insights and support to senior leadership and department heads.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within an education or public sector setting.
- Strong understanding of financial and statutory reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, dynamic, and energetic approach to work.
- Must be willing to attend the Cambridge office every day.
