Electrical Design Engineer role, Salary up to £42K

Our client is a forward-thinking, up-and-coming consultancy of M&E engineers specialising in all aspects of building services.
They design high quality MEP systems, providing a first-class service across a diversity of industry sectors.
You'll be working in their successful Glasgow office, surrounded by highly experienced and talented design engineers that will help and mentor you through your professional journey.
Your new role
You'll be joining the team as an Electrical Design Engineer, and will be given the opportunity to lead small projects with the assistance of more senior engineers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
- Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, etc.
- Preparing technical specifications.
- Collaborate with the BIM team to prepare models and drawings with Revit
- Attending meetings with clients and contractors.
- Site surveys, inspections and monitor site works.
- Report and technical note writing.
- Adherence to all quality, environmental & governance processes.
- Managing your own workload and working to time allocations.
What you'll need to succeed
- You will have an accredited Building Services/Electrical Engineering degree or higher educational qualification.
- Ability to manage and deliver electrical building services engineering designs across a range of sectors.
- Experience working within a building services design team
- Conducting any or all stages of electrical design from concept to completion as required by the project, and with the assistance and supervision of senior engineers.
- Experience in a range of digital tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, Amtech, MS Office, etc.
- Working knowledge of technical and legislation requirements for electrical services
- Good communication skills
- Report writing skills.
