Level 3 qualified RSW needed in Solihull - Night wake worker
Your new company
Due to the partnership between Hays and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, we are looking to recruit an experienced Residential Support Worker to join one of their council run children's homes. The home is a 3-bed EBD home that recently opened.
Your new roleThis is a waking night position, where you will be required to work 2 night shifts a week - there is flexibility in which days you are required to work. During your shifts, you will be ensuring the safety and comfort of service users. You will be working within a children's home, so as well as carry out tasks to ensure the smooth running of the home, you should also be vigilant of potential issues and ensure you have clear handovers for day staff at the end of your shift.
This role is initially for 3 months, with the potential of this being extended.
What you'll need to succeed
- A minimum qualification of L3 in Children and Young People - this is essential
- Experience and willingness to get involved and be a proactive member of the team, taking part in activities
- Experience in dealing with challenging behaviour
- Be passionate about supporting young people and giving them the best chances
- Excellent communication both with service users and staff
- If you've lived overseas in the last 5 years an Overseas Police Check will need to be presented
