As a school receptionist for this high school in Preston, you will be responsible for supporting the school office to ensure the smooth running of the reception area. You will be the first point of contact for all visitors, phone calls, and enquiries and provide an excellent front-of-house service. Other duties may include:
- Dealing with enquiries either face to face or on the telephone.
- Signing visitors in and out of the school.
- Managing the school diary, booking appointments, arranging meetings, and sending reminders
- Update and maintain pupil records and files on SIMS.
- Send and receive letters, emails, faxes, and deliveries.
- Preparation of documentation and resources, tidying of materials and replenishment of stock.
- Follow the school policies and procedures regarding health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection.
- Using ICT systems for communications and record-keeping, including SIMS
- Carrying out reprographics work.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a school or office environment
- A DBS that is on the update service is preferred.
- Knowledge of SIMS or other school management systems
- A friendly, professional, and helpful attitude
- A high level of confidentiality and discretion
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
