We are looking for a passionate and dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis as an SEN TA. In this role, you will inspire a love for teaching and bring the enthusiasm and energy needed to make a positive impact on children’s lives.
About your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant
Some of your duties will include:
•Working in a team with the class teacher to deliver excellent support with teaching and learning
•Working with children on a 1:1 or group basis
•Accompanying groups on trips
•Supporting assessment and evidencing learning
•Working with teachers to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
•Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all children
•Creating opportunities for all children to reach their potential, irrespective of ability.
•Supporting a child/children with special educational needs. However, the role will vary from day to day. You will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations.
•Giving the opportunity to make a huge social impact, changing the path of a child’s life
What you will need to succeed (only UK)
•At least one year's experience of working with children in the primary age range
•Has the ability to support children’s academic, social and emotional development in all Key Stages (EYFS to Year 6)
•Experience of working with children in a friendly and busy environment
•An understanding/experience with children with SEN needs
•Level 2 qualification in play work/childcare
•Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures
•Have excellent communication skills
•The ability to build effective relationships with students, parents and other staff
•Have a good understanding of behaviour management strategies
•Be able to work as part of a team
•The right to work in the UK
•You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS through Hays
