Hays Are partnering with a wholesaler to recruit for a Senior Buyer in their Schoolwear team.

Your new role

As the Senior Buyer, you will be responsible to drive the future of the product strategy for 1880 Club Schoolwear. Being proactive to gain insights from the market, your customer base and colleagues, you will look for opportunities to develop and improve the product offering and work those opportunities through with the network of suppliers.

On a seasonal basis, you will co-ordinate and control all aspects of development and delivery of the schoolwear collection from conception to fulfilment.

You will oversee production programming, demand planning and quality control systems and procedures. You will strive to maximise performance in relation to cost efficiency and delivery schedules.

Working with an international supply base, you will negotiate prices, lead times and terms of trade, managing all aspects of order fulfilment including freight and efficient import procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

• The successful candidate will be well organised and flexible, a good team player with a methodical approach and the ability to meet deadlines. In addition, they must be resilient, an effective problem solver, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Third level education in a related field.
• An analytical mind and with a methodical approach and the ability to effectively interpret data.
• A high level of IT literacy, including MS Office.
• A full driving licence and valid passport.
