Job Title: Finance Business Partner | Job Location: Glasgow

This is an exciting opportunity to join a public sector organisation on a fixed-term contract basis (for a period of 12 months). Within this key role, you will provide a key financial planning service to their respective directorates, supporting and challenging teams in equal measure, to allow the business to make informed management decisions based on the timely and accurate financial information supplied.
Your new role
Within this varied role, you will be responsible for providing challenge and support in equal measure to their respective directorates, producing accurate periodic financial information in line with the organisation's accounting policies, to their respective directorates in the form of a reporting pack with a full commentary on the financial performance each period along with initiative tracking, attending directorate team meetings and lead on the presentation of financial information and preparing and developing the annual budget, business plan and other statistical / statutory information, in conjunction with the relevant Directors, senior management teams and the Senior Finance Business Partner.
You will work closely and liaise with the business to ensure any future changes are incorporated within the quarterly forecast and annual budget and business plan submissions and complete periodic balance sheet reconciliation related to their respective directorate and complete key P&L analysis schedules each period. You will also ensure that all reconciliations are completed in a timely basis and adequate supporting information is provided and develop and maintain financial control processes to ensure maximum value for money is obtained in line with business requirements.What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACAS/ ACCA/CIMA) with good knowledge of IFRS and will be able to take a strategic view and create solutions that are congruent with the company strategy. You will have experience of working in a Business Partner/Finance Manager role in a similar-sized organisation, be an excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbal. You will be IT literate with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and report writing and presentation skills are essential. You will also be able to work independently and as part of a core team. In regards to systems, open Accounts and Cognos are preferable.What you'll get in return
