Mechanical Project Engineer - Permanent - Main Contractor - Birmingham - Severn Trent Water Projects

Your new company

You will be joining an established and high-profile main contractor operating in the water industry. This multi-accredited organisation has long-standing relationships with multiple water providers across the country, including Severn Trent, United Utilities and Thames Water, and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with site travel within the Severn Trent region.

Your new role

As Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Outlining engineering works from inception through to completion
  • Participating in project review meetings and contributing to business process improvements
  • Coordinating and managing subcontractors to ensure mechanical works align with project objectives, timelines and quality standards
  • Preparing reports, project plans and status updates for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Conducting site visits (currently in the Worcestershire area) to monitor progress of mechanical works, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure safety and compliance with standards.
  • Leading successful delivery of multidisciplinary complex projects.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful, you must have:
  • Experience in the delivery of mechanical works within the water sector
  • Strong understanding of NEC and/or IChemE forms of contracts
  • Ability to liaise with key project stakeholders of all levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project
  • Full UK driving licence.
