Large multi-academy trust seeking a Senior IT Engineer to be based at a secondary school on the Wirral.

Your new company

This multi-academy trust has over 30 schools as part of the trust, with a strong concentration of these in the North West and the trust has approached Hays looking to appoint a Senior IT Engineer at a secondary school on the Wirral. The successful candidate will become part of the central IT team, whilst also being an integral part of the support staff team on site at the school. The trust has an excellent reputation, following growth and positive results over a number of years, and the IT team has gone through a successful transformation and now consists of around 30 IT specialists. This secondary school has an OFSTED rating of good, also with an excellent reputation due to high performance and the strong focus they have on raising standards across the school.

Your new role

Reporting to the Regional IT Manager, you will be responsible for providing a high level of IT support across the school on a daily basis, working closely with both the wider central IT team and academic staff on site, as well as liaising with pupils. This role will involve supporting with hardware, software, bespoke educational technologies and also supporting the wider trust in the delivery of any IT projects, therefore allowing you the opportunity to further develop your skills and experience. A key part of this role will also be building relationships with academic staff, advising and educating staff on any upcoming IT changes and how they will support teaching and learning in the classroom. This is an exciting role for an experienced IT Engineer looking for a role where they will be the lead engineer on site and take accountability for full site IT. There is further career progression available in this role for the right candidate, due to the structure of the central IT team.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess significant IT Engineer experience and it would be hugely advantageous if you have experience working in the education sector. Experience working at a secondary school, college, or trust would be ideal, as well as experience liaising with academic staff and working with technologies unique to the education sector. Strong collaboration and relationship building skills will be key in order to be successful in this role and someone who has a real passion for IT and who understands the impact of IT in the classroonm.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will be paid a competitive salary of between £38,000 and £41,000 and receive an excellent benefits package.
