Adults Learning Disabilities Support Worker - Swansea /NPT

Your New Company:
A supported living organisation located in the Swansea, Neath, and Port Talbot areas, providing a range of care and support services for individuals with learning and/or physical disabilities, some of whom have additional health needs. The organisation is committed to promoting the rights, interests, and dignity of the people they support.

Your New Role:
As a Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team providing essential care and support. No previous experience or qualifications are necessary as comprehensive training will be provided.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting personal and physical care needs.
  • Managing and administering medication.
  • Assisting with daily living tasks.
  • Managing tenancy agreements and security.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
  • Attending health appointments and liaising with external professionals.
  • Supporting individuals in activities that promote health and wellbeing, such as arts and crafts, sports, social events, and holidays.

What You Will Need To Succeed:
  • A commitment to training and personal development.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to support individuals in a flexible and safe environment.
  • Domestic skills including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Commitment to achieving relevant qualifications and standards.
  • Desirable: Ability to communicate in Welsh, a non-judgemental attitude, ability to remain calm in stressful situations, a full and valid driver’s licence with Business Class 1 vehicle insurance, and flexibility to work various hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
