Insurance Underwriting Analyst – up to £25,000 – 5 days in the office

Your new company

Your new company are a specialist underwriting agency who insure various risks connected to M&A. They are an international team which is expanding. Mergers & Acquisitions (“M&A”) is a fast-paced and varied area of commerce and this role provides a unique opportunity for long-term career growth in this exciting area. This role is based within the London office. Due to expansion within their Mergers and Acquisition team, a position for an Insurance Underwriting Analyst has arisen.


Your new role

Your new role working as an Insurance Underwriting Analyst means the primary focus of the M&A Analyst is to provide pre-underwriting technical analysis and support to the underwriters. As an analyst, you will initially carry out administrative tasks but also develop business acumen and learn about M&A transactions with a unique opportunity to develop your career and become an M&A underwriter. You will be provided with training such as a combination of ‘on-the-job’ experience and Chartered Insurance Institute courses. Duties will include overseeing inbound enquiries for team review, drafting quotes for underwriter review and client distribution, recording transaction details in the online underwriting system and creating reports for management. Further duties also include preparing client invoices and assisting the Finance Director with accounting tasks, producing PowerPoint presentations for business purposes, communicating with brokers about premium and fee processing and assisting in organising team and client events. You will be organising submission flow and pre-reading underwriting information to provide technical opinions, preparing statistics and performing analytical tasks, assisting in drafting contract wordings, collating regular management information reports, developing relationships with brokers and enhancing underwriting and technical knowledge.


What you'll need to succeed

You will have a hard working, dependable, self-motivated and enthusiastic outlook, with strong organisational skills, good team-working and collaboration skills. You will also have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritise workload and ask questions when unsure and have high level of attention to detail and accuracy. You will be educated to A-level standard or equivalent with strong numerical and analytical ability and have a genuine interest in the insurance sector with a desire to study towards ACII insurance qualifications. You will be proficient in Microsoft products, willing to learn and put in the extra effort when the business needs it and have strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
