PROPERTY AND SURVEYING JOBS FAQs

Your salary will vary depending on your experience, but you could earn on average: 

  • Newly trained surveyors can earn £20,000-£25,000. 
  • Trained with experience surveyors can earn £25,000-£30,000. 
  • Senior or chartered surveyors can earn £30,000-£45,000. 

You can enter the property and surveying sector via a degree or a professional qualification that has been approved by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). You could study surveying, construction and civil or building engineering subjects. 

As a surveyor, your role is to inspect and check buildings to identify any possible structural damage or loss of integrity.
